Full description

September 2021. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Sections of a probable Roman road are visible as cropmarks and soilmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S2). It is likely that the features are part of the Roman road recorded more broadly as NHER 2796.The features most likely overlay a possible Neolithic enclosure (NHER 64239) and a possible Iron Age multiple ditched boundary (NHER 64260). Earthwork sections of the road have been recorded to the west (NHER 64216). It is possible that the extent of the bank feature may have been spread as a result of modern ploughing.
