Summary
A section of Roman road is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs to the southeast of Brampton Roman town (NHER 66780 and related). It leads eastwards from the modern Lion Road, believed to follow the line of a Roman road (NHER 7598), through a complex area of fields and enclosures, much of which is likely to be Roman in date (NHER 66780 and related). It is visible partially as the cropmarks of a metalled surface or raised bank, and partially as the cropmarks of parallel ditches, which presumably flanked the road. Further to the east, its continuation is recorded as NHER 66779. Both are part of a projected long distance routeway between Denver and Smallburgh (NHER 2796).

The section of Roman road described below was previously recorded as part of NHER 2796.
A section of Roman road is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1)-(S4) to the southeast of Brampton Roman town (NHER 66780 and related). It leads eastwards from the modern Lion Road, believed to follow the line of a Roman road (NHER 7598), through a complex area of fields and enclosures, much of which is likely to be Roman in date (part of NHER 66780 and related). It is visible partially as the cropmarks of a metalled surface or raised bank, and partially as the cropmarks of parallel ditches, which presumably flanked the road. Further to the east, its continuation is recorded as NHER 66779. Both are part of a projected long distance routeway between Denver and Smallburgh (NHER 2796).
