Summary
A possible Bronze Age ring ditch can be seen as a cropmark on aerial photographs. Whilst this may be of prehistoric origin, the irregular appearance of this ring ditch indicates that it could be of natural origin. The interpretation of this ring ditch as a possible Bronze Age barrow is therefore somewhat more tentative than the group identified approximately 400m to the south (see NHER 36348).

July 2022. Air Photo Interpretation.
A possible Bronze Age ring ditch can be seen as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S1).
Only the northern half of the cropmark is visible to the north of the existing field boundary and the edges of the ring ditch when examined in detail appear to be quite irregular. The interpretation of this ring ditch as a possible Bronze Age barrow is therefore somewhat more tentative than the group identified approximately 400m to the south (see NHER 36348). It is possible that this ring ditch is of natural origin. Finds from this area have consisted primarily of Roman and later material (NHER 28732, NHER 29304, NHER 30214, NHER 30203 and NHER 30393). However, a piece of Bronze Age chain was recovered approximately 130m to the south (NHER 31283).
