Full description

June 2008. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of excavation of soakaway pit.
The excavated hole revealed a series of made ground deposits, all of which were homogenous and seemed to have been reworked. Fourteen sherds of pottery were recovered, dating from the medieval and post- medieval periods. One medieval and one post-medieval silver coin were also recovered. The deposits observed during the excavation suggested repeated episodes of land make-up within the post-medieval period.
See report (S1) for further information.
The associated archive has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2016.159).
