House with two-storey round tower at corner.
A sale advertisement (S1) states it is 400 years old and a former tollhouse, but the former is improbable and latter cannot be correct as the only main road ever in this area is some way to the south.
Faden's map of 1797 (S2), which extends here into what used to be Suffolk, does not show a windmill or similar feature.
However the Fritton Tithe map of 1838 (S3) clearly marks the round tower although it is hardly visible on the Ordnance Survey First Edition Six-inch map (S4) though this does show a building called 'Warren House' to the south. Could this have been a warren lodge? The building in question appears to be labelled as 'Round House' on all subsequent Ordnance Survey maps.
