Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting has led to the recovery of Roman, Saxon, medieval and post medieval artefacts from the undated enclosures known as Beloe's Camps (NHER 38094). The objects include pieces of Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery, Roman coins and Late Saxon and medieval metalwork. The Late Saxon metalwork includes a Late Saxon stirrup-strap mount and a 9th or 10th century strap fitting. The medieval coins include a Scottish penny.
