Summary

Metal detecting in 1997 and 2020 recovered Roman and medieval coins; a post-medieval token and a number of other, Middle Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal objects include a Middle Iron Age brooch; Roman brooches and a copper alloy bead; a Middle/Late Saxon dress component; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories and copper alloy unidentified objects; a medieval lead ampulla and a medieval/post-medieval pin and coin weight.

Full description

August 1997. Metal-detecting finds.
Medieval coin.
Complete but worn, medieval lead ampulla, with both 'handles' surviving. On one side ridge to resemble a shell, the other has a border of diagonal lines aorund a flask filled with diagonal lines. 12th to 14th century date.
