Summary

A Neolithic adze was found here in 1982. Fieldwalking in this area during 1992 recovered prehistoric flint artefacts and medieval pottery sherds. Metal detecting in 2009 recovered a Late Saxon harness link.

Full description

May 1982. Stray Find.
Found by [1], probably in east half of this field:
Flint adze fragment. White flint, 9cm length, 4cm maximum width. Roughly chipped. Apparently broken off portion.
Previously recorded under NHER 18146.
Identified by E. James (KLM) 1 June 1982.

1983. Stray Find.
Various prehistoric worked flints recovered from several fields in Bawsey by [2]. Although the majority were said to come from Galley Hill (NHER 19537), at least some were apparently from this field and another to the north (NHER 28924). See NHER 19537 for further information.
