In 1988 a scatter of Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds was recorded in the north-west of the field. Metal-detecting in 2016 recovered a medieval harness fitting and harness pendant.

Pottery at Contect 1:
Five Roman grey ware.
Eight medieval unglazed.
One medieval glazed.
One Late medieval/Trans.
Two post medieval.
Two Uncertain.
