The metal finds include a Late Bronze Age socketed axehead fragment; Roman brooches, a finger ring, probable furniture knob and lead weight; a possible Roman/Early Saxon military buckle; an Early Saxon strap end and brooch; a possible Middle Saxon dress fastener; a Middle/Late Saxon disc brooch; Late Saxon strap ends, bridle bit, harness fitting and brooches; a Late Saxon Viking trefoil brooch; a Late Saxon to post-medieval lead spindle whorl; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval hasp, harness-pendant suspension mount and stud or mount; a medieval/post-medieval candlestick and copper alloy cooking vessel fragment and post-medieval strap link, harness mount and crotal bell.
At some time in 2014 or 2015 unstratified Late Saxon and medieval pottery sherds were recovered from the spoil of a linear feature that had previously been excavated during work on a pipeline.
