Summary

Fragments of pottery dating from the Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval periods found during fieldwalking. An undated lava fragment, a piece of quern or millstone, and several prehistoric flint flakes were also found.

Full description

1986 to 1987. Surface finds against The Meadow.
3 Thetford type.
42 medieval unglazed, 1 medieval glazed Grimston, 1 medieval glazed with fine fabric and roulette decoration, regional import from where?
51 post medieval mostly glazed red earthenware to 19th century.

Roughly square (110mm) lava fragment, quern or millstone, maximum thickness 67mm (weighing 1.21kg).
