Summary
Metal-detecting in 1982 and 2023 recovered a medieval harness strap fitting and an Early Saxon brooch fragment. This brooch fragment, when considered in conjunction with a number finds recovered in the south-western portion of the field directly to the north (NHER 1046), suggest that this is possibly the site of a mixed-rite Early Saxon inhumation and cremation cemetery.

This find, when considered in conjunction with a number finds recovered in the south-western portion of the field directly to the north (NHER 1046), due to their date and character, suggests that this may be the site of a mixed Early Saxon inhumation and cremation cemetery. A possible extent of the cemetery has been mapped as NHER 1046 - Context 3.
Site extended to the whole field. Previously mapped as a point at [4].
