Full description
Large disused quarry, right up to parish boundary, near Potter's Close kiln-site. East half deepened, spoil used to build embankment 6m (20 foot) high, around rectangular area about 36.5m by 12m (120 foot by 40 foot) used for clay pigeon shooting - cartridges and clays found, not very old. Originally a pottery clay pit?
