Name:St Mary's Church, East Bradenham

Summary

This church has Norman origins. The chancel is Norman but the nave and aisles were rebuilt in the 14th century. The tower was rebuilt in the 15th century when the windows were also altered and the unusual buttresses were added. During conservation works in 1997 three layers of painted plaster were investigated. The latest dated to the 19th century.

Norman chancel, 14th century nave and aisles, 15th century tower, windows, porch much late repair.
Note that (S2)'s record of Late Saxon tower is a mistake. Medieval sherds from graveyard.
