Record Details

NHER Number:6066
Type of record:Monument
Name:Roman settlement

Summary

Two Roman rubbish pits were excavated here in the 1930s. Metal detecting and fieldwalking has recovered large amounts of Roman material including coins, brooches, building material and fragments of pottery. The large number of finds suggests that this is an area of Roman settlement, probably part of the larger Brettenham Roman settlement (NHER 5653). Saxon, medieval and post medieval finds have also been recovered.
