Summary

This is the site of a medieval moat. Brick rubble, and fragment of flint walls suggest the presence of a building on the island, and some late medieval pottery fragments have also been found.

Full description

Moat (OS).
Under plough March 1977.
North and east ditches survive as drainage dykes. Brick rubble concentrated in south half of island. Few late medieval glazed sherds. Causeway in north east corner is partly made up of pieces of flint and mortar walling ?from building on island.
