Summary

Metal detecting and fieldwalking in this area during 2003 and 2005 recovered a variety of finds, some of which suggested this could have been the site of a Roman settlement. Roman artefacts recovered included pottery sherds, tiles, coins and a cosmetic pestle. Other objects found included prehistoric flint artefacts (such as an early Neolithic laurel leaf and a possible projectile point), medieval pottery sherds and medieval buckle fragments.
