Type of record:Monument
Name:Possible Early Saxon cemetery and multi-period finds

Summary

Metal detecting has recovered a range of finds dating from the Iron Age to the post medieval period. These include Iron Age and Roman brooches, a Roman duck figurine, Early Saxon brooches and a Late Saxon lead plaque. One of the Early Saxon brooches has an unusual openwork design. Fifty four Roman and ten medieval coins have also been found. Pieces of Roman and medieval pot have been recorded. The presence of Early Saxon objects suggests this may be the location of an Early Saxon cemetery.
