Summary

Soil marks of a ploughed-out Bronze Age barrow were noted in 1935. Excavation noted a circular chalk platform 21m in diameter surrounded by a 3m wide ditch. Three flint flakes were recovered.

Full description

March 1935. Site of round barrow. Southwest of Rougham Belt and north of road to Great Massingham.
Noted as soilmark by [1].

April 1935.
Two trenches dug by [2] and R. R. Clarke (NCM). One north to south in centre and one across ditch at southeast. Consisted of circular chalk platform 21m (70 feet) diameter with ditch 3m (10 feet) wide and 90cm (3 feet) deep. Primary silting 75cm (2 1/2 feet). Only 30cm (1 foot) of soil over chalk in centre of platform. No finds. [1] found three patinated flint flakes.
