Summary

Roman brooches, a Roman mount, a Roman enamelled seal box lid and a number of Roman coins have been found during metal detecting. An unusual Early Saxon cruciform brooch, a medieval buckle and a post medieval button have also been found.

Full description

October 1995. Northeast of crossing of Peddars Way and suggested Roman road.
47 Roman coins.
2 Roman brooches.
Very strange Early Saxon cruciform brooch. To be photographed.

Bronze seal box lid, lozengiform with 25 enamelled cells. Central cell deep blue flanked by 4 orange, rest all light green.
Roman ?2nd century.
