Summary

Metal-detecting between 1993 and 2000 recovered Roman and medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; as well as Roman brooches and part of a possible Roman surgical instrument; a Late Saxon strap and harness fittings; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories. These finds are associated with NHER 30430.
Metal-detecting across the whole field in 2014 recovered a Roman coin.

Roman and medieval sherds in part of field.

November/December 1993.
1) 3 Roman coins.
2) 1 Late Saxon coin.
3) 1 post medieval jetton.

4) Roman enamelled disc brooch, no peripheral lugs. Central disc missing. Outer area filled with green enamel and decorated with 6 discs containing red enamel. 2nd century AD.
5) Roman knee brooch. Semi-cylindrical head. Bow of thin broad rectangular section tapering towards foot. 2nd century AD.
6) D-shaped delicate medieval buckle with pin.

2) Late Saxon bronze bridle cheeckpiece, central boss, one broken terminal loop, other complete, bronze.
3) Lovely bronze medieval triangular balance pan, hole in each corner for suspension (2 broken). In centre a lion mask and an inscription around ---]ANTOI[ ?Canterbury? cf Norwich Households no.1581.
