Summary

Metal detecting recovered a number of finds dating from the Iron Age to the post medieval period. These include an ancient copper alloy copy of an Iron Age gold coin made in the west of Britain, a 13th century buckle plate depicting a dragon, a coin weight for gold angel made between 1461 and 1603 and a lead cloth seal of the Norwich Weavers' Company made between 1650 and 1705. Medieval and post medieval coins and jettons including a French billon coin were also found.

Metal detecting finds.
Identified by J.A. Davies (NCM) and S. Margeson (NCM).
Bronze stater, originally gold plated? Ancient forgery of Dobunnic stater of 43-45 AD. Weight 4.13g. Faint remains of 'tree' emblem on reverse. As (S1). To be photographed.
Coin weight for gold angel 1461 to 1603.
Henry VII groat, facing bust type 3c. London mint 1485 to 1509.
Henry VIII 2nd coinage groat 1526 to 1544.
Gilt 13th century buckle plate with sunken field containing low relief, dragon with tail ending in loop.
14th century ring brooch in very good condition. Pin with rectangular 'boss' near looped head. Ring is slightly facetted. Pin looped over ring (no narrow bar).
French billon coin, John V, Duke or Brittany 1399 to 1442. Pierced for suspension. Weight 2.53g.
