Name:Possible medieval shrunken village

Summary

Analysis of aerial photographs of this site reveals cropmarks of a possible village. Fieldwalking here has collected Late Saxon and medieval pottery fragments and metal detectorists have found two Roman brooches, a medieval coin, medieval buckle and medieval belt fitting. It is possible that Castle Rising village once spread this far but has since shrunk.
