Summary

Metal detecting in this area between 1989 and 1998 recovered a variety of objects. Noteworthy finds included an Iron Age Iceni coin, Roman pottery brooches, an Early Saxon object - possibly from a sleeve clasp, a Late Saxon metal pin, medieval French and English jettons and ring brooches.

Late 1989 to January 1990. Metal detecting. Location [1].
An Iron Age Iceni coin and a variety of Late Saxon to medieval metalwork was recovered.

1990. Metal Detecting.
Medieval pottery sherds, an Early Saxon wrist clasp, a Middle Saxon brooch, and medieval coins and metalwork were recovered.

September 1991. Metal detecting and surface collection.
Roman, Middle Saxon, Late Saxon, and medieval pottery were found along with a medieval belt or harness fitting.

A Roman coin, a Middle Saxon ansate brooch, and medieval harness pendants were found.

Roman, medieval and post medieval pottery and a fragment of a medieval peg roof tile were recovered.

1992. Metal detecting.
Roman,Saxon, and medieval metalwork was found. Items include a Roman booch, a 13th century cast lead figure and mirror case, a 15th/16th century bronze book clasp, and medieval jettons.

Roman coins and brooch (S2), a Late Saxon strap end (S2 and S3), and medieval finger ring, stamp for leather, key, pin, ring-brooch, and coins were found.
