Summary

The fragmentary remains of a male skeleton were found by trenching in peat in 1955. There were no associated artefacts with the body, but it has been suggested that it might date to the Bronze Age. A piece of animal bone was also recovered.

August 1955. Near Catsholme House while trenching in peat at depth of 1.2m (4 feet).
Fragmentary remains of one human male of Early Bronze Age type, no associated artefacts but a fragment of animal bone.
