Full description

February 1988. East of Willow Farm, on south of public footpath.
Mound, about 1-1.5m high, under pasture. Occupying all of field, irregular shape with old gullies cut into side, resembling a stranded starfish.
Reported by friend of [1] who stated that in 1939 it was to be excavated due to a belief that it was a burial mound, but war intervened. From position on edge of marshes and similarity to mounds at Halvergate Marshes, probable that this is a saltern mound.
E. Rose (NAU), 14 March 1988.

March 1995. Earthwork Survey.
Survey at 1:1000.
See report (S1) further details and copy of plan (S2). This survey is also noted in (S3).
B. Cushion (NLA), March 1995. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 23 March 2015.

October 2000.
Grazed by sheep. Good grass cover, a few thistle patches. Minimal poaching near gate.
H. Paterson (A&E), 9 January 2003.
