A 15th century plaque depicting a pelican and a piece of lead-glazed post medieval pot were found in a flower bed, which is thought to be on the site of some demolished cottages.

Full description

November 1985. Double digging to put in roses in area where two cottages had been demolished in past.
Copper alloy roundel with pelican and inscription LE DIEU...DIEU; plain reverse. No traces of gilding or enamel. 15th century.
Lead glazed earthenware pod from tripod pitcher.
Identified by S. Margeson (NCM).
