Summary

This is the site of a Late Saxon and early medieval settlement, which began to be occupied in the 11th century, and continued into the 12th century. This settlement continues under site NHER 20629. Field walking recovered prehistoric flints, pottery dating from the Roman to the post medieval periods.

Full description

7 March 1984 and 16 September 1984. Ordnance Survey field Little Fransham AJGR L149.
Field walking, good conditions.
Medieval sherds including Grimston.
Roman or Late Saxon sherds also Grimston Thetford.
16th century glazed sherds, worked flint.
