Summary

A Palaeolithic flint flake was found close to Stone Lane in 1982. Fieldwalking in 2009 as part of the Caistor Research Project recovered undatable prehistoric, Neolithic and Late Neolithic flints and Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds.

Full description

1982. Stray Find.
Found when walking In Stone Lane:
1 prehistoric flint flake. Subsequently reidentified as a Palaeolithic flake (with distal end missing).
Donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1984.25). Information from (S1).

This is probably the same object as a Palaeolithic flake from "Chedgrave" (an adjacent parish) recorded by (S2). This object is described as the proximal end of a blade-like flake and is listed as been in the NCM. The same finder is also listed.
