Summary

This is the site of a series of enclosures, both sub-circular and sub-rectangular, and trackways, visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. Finds from this area, see NHER 20182, suggest that the site may date from the Roman period.

Positive cropmarks.
1 ring ditch. 1 square feature.

Not a ring ditch; a subrectangular enclosure.

January 1984. Over surface of field containing cropmarks. Found on surface of ploughed field while metal detecting.
24 Roman coarse sherds.
4 sherds Thetford-type ware.
5 sherds medieval.

Cropmarks of sub-circular enclosure with entrance still visible, along with the sub-rectangular/square enclosure to the west.
A third enclosure is also visible to the north. It is extremely regular and has internal sub-dividing ditches. Finds over this area (NHER 20182) may indicate it is Roman in date.
