Full description

July 1981. Found in digging pipeline 46cm (18 inches) wide.
Pipe trench crossed a considerable area but only at grid reference, in a band of black sandy soil, were sherds found.
Six Roman sherds including rim of jar with turned over rim, rusticated surface, and blackish grey fabric.
Nine miscellaneous Roman sherds, similar plain coarse ware.
Two sherds including possible rim of everted flat rim fine grey ware dish.
