Fieldwalking and metal detecting have led to the discovery of multi-period finds. The artefacts include prehistoric flint objects, part of a Bronze Age socketed axehead, Roman and medieval pottery, undated metal working debris and a post medieval lead weight.

1980.
366m (400 yards) west of Manor Farm. Finder's reference 258a.
Roman sherds.
Medieval base sherd.
Two prehistoric flint flakes and scraper.
(S1) has 'Roman sherds and tile' written on it here.
Identified by W. Milligan (NCM).

Area extended to northwest.
Very worn 4th century bronze coin.
Two undated bronze waste fragments.
Undated lead weight.
Bronze mount, thought not to be Roman by A. Gregory (NAU).
Small bronze thimble 17th century?
Lead weight stamped A for avoirdupois, Norwich Arms, and probably initials of monarch now illegible.
