Summary

Cropmarks previously recorded under this NHER number have now been moved to NHER 27689. Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting between 1991 and 2019 recovered prehistoric flint implements; Roman to post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; aswell as a Roman finger ring, with an intaglio decorated with a figure of Victory. An evaluation in January 2010 revealed a single sherd of Iron Age pottery that was likely to be intrusive.

Full description

January/February 1991.
Several flint flakes, some with retouch.
Pottery: Roman greywares, Late Saxon Thetford-type rim, medieval unglazed & glazed.
Late medieval/early post medieval sherd, lots of local glazed earthernware sherds & few stoneware sherds
