Summary

The site of a chapel is marked here on old maps. This is thought to be the chapel of St Andrew or St Mary which was built in 1264 by Sir Thomas Gelham. Foundations of the chapel were often found when graves were dug in the churchyard.

Site of chapel (Ordnance Survey).
'Thomas de Gelham was licensed to build a chapel in the churchyard in 1264' 'Formerly the ruins of a chapel stood here'
