This is the site of a windmill that is marked on Faden's map of 1797. The earliest reports of this windmill date from 1775. Records from 1790 suggest it was called Tower Mill and was a smock mill at this time.

Advertised in 1790 as Tower Mill but probably then a smock mill.. Earliest record 1775 - nothing later known.
