Full description

September 1978. Found in trench for sewage pumping station, top of river gravel, below 1.5m (5ft) of peat.
Base of jar of Late Bronze Age/Iron Age type of dark grey heavily flint gritted fabric, heavily iron stained.
Though friable sherd is not eroded, suggesting it was deposited after the gravel was laid down.
