This is the site of a post mill that was possibly built as early as 1791. It is marked on maps dating to 1826. It was replaced by the tower mill in 1886 and was last turned by wind in 1912.

Full description

Croxton wind mill.
A post mill possibly there by 1791 but first marked by Ordnance Survey 1826. Replaced by the tower mill 1886, last turned by wind 1912.

Brick tower remains, apparently intact apart from cap but covered in dense ivy.

Cap and top two storeys removed in 1930s.
