Record Details

NHER Number:12138
Type of record:Monument
Name:Multi-period finds

Summary

Fieldwalking in 1997 recovered Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds. There was a considerable concentration of Roman finds in one part of the site, including Roman tile, which suggests there may have been a settlement here at that time. Metal-detecting in 2015 recovered a post-medieval coin as well as a Late Saxon/medieval stirrup-strap mount and a medieval buckle.
The extent of a large cropmark complex includes the location of this site, see NHER 44867 for details.
