Summary

An undated rectangular enclosure and faint ring ditch can be seen on aerial photographs.
Metal-detecting between 1983 and 2002 recovered Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval jettons and tokens and undated and Roman to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include undated metalworking debris, part of a harness and a lead bead; Roman brooches, a belt fitting, bracelet fragment, finger ring and furniture fitting; an Early Saxon buckle fragment, furniture fitting, ring and brooch; a Middle Saxon strap-end and pin; Late Saxon stirrup-strap mounts, a Viking style buckle frame, cheekpiece fragment and tweezers; medieval buckles, a brooch, padlock, seal matrix, bell, knife fragment, vessel rim, swivel fitting and lead pilgrim's ampulla from Walsingham and post-medieval weights, a buckle, button, ferrule, figurine, coin weight, padlock and hooked fitting.

Faint ring ditch with rectangular mark to south.

Two Roman coins, see list in file.
Bronze openwork Late Saxon box mount. Pierced rivet hole at apex is broken. Single rivet hole at base above flange. Decorated in low relief with engraved lines. Possible animal and foliage with human figure between two beasts. See (S1) and (S3). This find was reidentified as a Late Saxon stirrup-strap mount by D. Williams in 1997, see Monograph (S4).
Bronze Late Saxon cheeckpiece fragment from bridle, one pierced terminal broken off. Three moulded knobs on other terminal. Ring-and-dot on central boss and two side knobs. See (S1).
Medieval buckle, with white-metal coating on plate. Border of rocker-arm decoration. Buckle frame is of unusual oval form.
12th to 13th circular lead seal matrix, double-sided with eight-leaved rosette in centre of each face. Legends both illegible, except for a few letters. One side less worn than other. Double band around central rosette on less worn side.

Medieval brooch, lozengiform (23x24mm) with truncated triangular section and continuous punched annulets on top face. Wire pin looped through hole in one corner. 14th century.
Early post medieval bronze box padlock with iron hinged shackle. Rounded base, slightly projecting 'ears' at top. Triple grooved applied strip and 4 double concentric rings-and-dot on each face. 16th/17th century.
