Summary

Analysis of aerial photographs demonstrates the presence of a ploughed-out medieval moat and interior structures at this site. There are possible related enclosures to the north of the moat. Medieval pottery has been recovered from inside the moat.

Full description

Moat, cited by Ordnance Survey.
Under plough on interior, north ditch survives and west ditch probably part filled in, is preserved in a wide tree filled hedge about 200m from parish boundary.

Medieval sherds found amongst crop in interior.

Moat solely as soilmark; totally ploughed out. Enclosure also visible to north - contemporary or later? - and building? within moat.

Cropmarks of moat visble, an internal enclosure is also present, which appears to have a cluster of three pits within it. This may be the 'building' referred to above.
