Summary

A Bronze Age barbed and tanged arrowhead was found on the surface of a field in 1971. In 1988 a farmer found a Bronze Age cremation urn. Excavation of the area recovered a second associated Bronze Age pottery vessel.

Full description

1971. Stray Find.
Surface find:
1 Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age barbed and tanged flint arrowhead.
T. Clough (NCM), 1971.
Information from (S1). This discovery was reported in (S2).

December 1988. Excavation.
Salvage excavation.
Bronze Age inverted collared urn containing cremation, and inverted small coarse vessel.
See published report (S3) for further detail. The results of this work are summarised in (S4) and were also noted in local press article (S5).
The collared urn itself is now in the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1998.53).
