Full description
Moat, western side shown on Ordnance Survey with entrance.
This survives as an overgrown ditch with large trees along it.
Visited E. Rose (NAU) 9 November 1978.
Measures overall 67.0m north to south by 40.0m transversely.
The north, south and west arms are waterfilled and attain a maximum width of 8.0m. The east arm 1.3m deep and up to 14.0m inside, is dry.
R. J. Rickett (NAU) 13 July 1990.
April 2011. Norfolk NMP.
The moat described above was visible on aerial photographs (S1), but was obscured by trees and was therefore not mapped as it was more clearly depicted on the Ordnance Survey map. Earthwork ditches visible to the south have been recorded separately (NHER 54599), but may be related to the medieval moat.
E. Bales (NMP), 04 April 2011.
