Summary

In 1949 Medieval pottery sherds and burnt flints were recovered as stray finds, while metal-detecting in 1987 recovered an Iron Age or Roman terret and a Late Saxon nummular brooch designed as an imitation Roman coin.

Full description

1949. West of White House Farm.
2 sherds of glazed late medieval pottery with heap of calcined flints.
R.R. Clarke (NCM)

5 August 1987. Wilcon Development found with metaldetecting.
Late Iron Age/early Roman terret, dropped bar type, compare with example in (S1).
Photos NAU and NCM.
Late Saxon copper alloy disc brooch, coin prototype of House of Theodosius rather than House of Constantius, or via Louis the Pious. Reidentified as House of Valentinian.
