Full description

1817. 'Found about 1.5m (5 feet) below surface of a boggy common in deepening a rivulet that divides the parish of Shropham from Rockland (1842)'.
Polished stone (quartzite) macehead. Thames pestle type.

Watercolour by J. W. Watkin in NCM Art Department gives date of discovery as 1832.
