Full description

1957. Fragments of 12th century pottery found in field opposite the Catherine Wheel Public House at depth of 46cm to 61cm (18 inches to 24 inches) in sewage trench. Press cutting (S1) in file says 'Sutton' and 'Roman'; press cutting (S2) in file confirms as 12th century.
