Summary

Metal-detecting between 2006 and 2014 recovered late prehistoric worked flints, including an Early Neolithic flaked axehead and a Neolithic flake; Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons and Iron Age, Roman and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an Iron Age harness fitting and Late Iron Age lipped terret; a Late Saxon tongue-shaped openwork strap-end; a medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; Late Saxon/medieval and medieval spindle whorls; medieval/post-medieval weights, a thimble, pendent rumbler bell, swivel for a leash and a copper alloy pin and post-medieval dress accessories, squashed copper alloy thimbles, an end-cap from a scale-tang knife, coin weight, knife end stop in the form of an animal head, glass and lead toy watch, a fragment of rowel spur and a fragment of pocket sundial.
