Name:St James' Church, Wilton

Summary

A medieval parish church with an early 14th century tower and stone steeple and chancel, a 14th century nave with 15th century alterations and 19th century restoration. The church contains 15th century pews with pierced backs and arm rests with carved people and animals. Several early 18th century carved headstones stand in the churchyard, as well as a headstone to Elizabeth Wetherall, dated 1675, and one to Thomas Wetherall, dated 1710.
