Full description

Former south side Market Place. The Priory, Church Street.
Five bays, three storeys, central Georgian doorway, low wings at sides, very fine. Was it still in Market Place when it was built? (S1) lists 18th century railings in front of the building.

18th century, red brick and pantiled. Eaves cornice, Low pitched hipped roof, 3 storeys. 5 sash windows with glazing bars and flat arches. Mutular Doric woof doorcase with open pediment, 1st floor band. Low wings at sides with 6-panel doors. NMR photograph.
Railings. Mid 18th century. Cast-iron. Circular-section verticals with spear-head finials on cast-iron sleeper plates. Square-section standards with capped bobbin finials. 2 similar gates.
