Summary

Prehistoric flints, post-medieval gunflints and pottery dating from the Iron Age to the post medieval periods have been found on this site since the 1940s. Metal-detecting in 2015 recovered an undatable honestone; further late prehistoric worked flint; further Late Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon, and medieval to post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, Middle Saxon and medieval coins; medieval roof tile fragments and Late Iron Age to Early Saxon and Late Saxon to medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an Iron Age/Roman unidentified copper alloy object; a Roman key; an Early Saxon brooch, a Late Saxon/medieval sword quillon; and medieval brooches and a thimble.
