A group of post-medieval drainage ditches are visible on aerial photographs within Sound Plantation to the immediate south of Hickling Broad, Potter Heigham. These drainage ditches are not marked on the 1840 Potter Heigham Tithe map and are therefore likely to be earlier.

March 2006. Norfolk NMP.
A group of post-medieval drainage ditches are visible on aerial photographs within Sound Plantation, formerly an area of fen, to the immediate south of Hickling Broad, Potter Heigham (S1). The site is centred on TG 4298 2040. These drainage ditches are not marked on the 1840 Potter Heigham Tithe map (S2) and are therefore likely to be earlier.
